All monies raised will be going towards the Hellenic Heritage Foundation's new major initiative called the Apollo Project, of which the cornerstone is the new community supported Modern Greek Studies Program at the University of Toronto beginning this September 2014. This program will be funded on a year-to-year basis, starting with a donation of $180,000 over three years. This investment will fund two half-courses in Greek politics and Greek history, respectively, and one full course in Greek Language and Literature. In addition, a program is being developed to send students to Greece as part of their studies and monies provided for a public lecture on a Hellenic subject. In order to ensure this Hellenic Studies Program is continued permanently at this landmark institution, the HHF, the University of Toronto, and the community at large must jointly raise 2 million dollars so that future students will be allowed the equal opportunity to study their heritage for generations to come.
